MindWare Medical was founded in 1995 by Roy Frieband, DO, MS. A board certified family physician and database programmer, Dr. Frieband received a Master of Science degree in Medical Informatics from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in August 2002. Recently he was a featured speaker on electronic medical records at the Western Regional Community Health Center CFO conference in April 2004, and at the American Osteopathic Associations Annual convention in November 2004.

MindWare Medicals goal and vision was, and will always be, to provide affordable, functional software and services to solo and small group practices to enable them to:

• provide quality patient care
• maximize reimbursement
• decrease costs
• effectively deal with all the nonmedical peripheral issues that currently are weighing the profession down

That philosophy remains at the forefront of everything we do.

MindWare Medical was born out of Dr. Frieband's frustration with the high prices and low quality of much of the medical software available on the market. This problem is still particularly acute for solo and small group practices. Physician driven companies such as MindWare Medical understand the issues that independent practitioners face, and are therefore more effectively able to help them deal with those issues.

In addition to the Patient Minder EMR and the Rx Easy prescription writer plus software, MindWare Medical has written a variety of custom database applications for hospitals, ambulance squads, and physician offices. We offer consulting services on various medical informatics issues, such as HIPAA compliance, hardware and software selection, etc. We are also available to give talks to physician groups on a wide variety of computers in medicine topics.
