Frequently Asked Questions/Rx Easy

Why would I want a seperate prescription writing program rather than a true EMR?
There are many physicians that are interested in starting to automate their clinical processes but do not want to take a chance on wasting a lot of time and money, not to mention all the aggravation if their EMR implementation fails. They are understandably apprehensive from all the horror stories they have heard and read about failed EMR implementations. Rx Easy offers a gentle, inexpensive way to automate one of the most time consuming, pain in the butt tasks that you do on a daily basis. It allows you to reap some of the benefits of computerizing your clinical activities with virtually no downside risk.

If I use Rx Easy, and later decide that I want to move to a full EMR, can I use the data that I already have in Rx Easy?
All of your data from Rx Easy can be easily and seamlessly imported into our Patient Minder EMR software. If you choose to go with a different EMR how much of the data from Rx Easy you will be able to use depends on the EMR vendor. Rx Easy utilizes open architecture and an industry standard database. The data can be easily exported to a variety of standard formats. It can also be read natively or via ODBC by most common database and spreadsheet software.

Does Rx Easy do anything else besides prescription writing?
You bet it does. Rx Easy is a prescription writer plus. The plus part means that in addition to just writing prescriptions, it features intraoffice messaging, tracking of patients history and chronic diagnoses, user defined queries, patient summaries, one click demographic reports, ability to place prescriptions on hold, and much more. It actually does quite a bit more than simple prescription writing, and the features are very easy to use.

How come it's so inexpensive?
To make it easily affordable to everyone wanting to start automating some of their clinical tasks. We are sure that once doctors use this program for a short period of time and begin to reap some of the benefits of computerization they will want to advance to full EMR use. We see this as the first step on the road to EMR, and we are confident that once you see how functional and easy to use this program is you will want to upgrade to our Patient Minder EMR.

I have a lot of existing patient demographic data already in my billing program. Is there any way that I can import this into Rx Easy?
Absolutely. Most billing programs give you the ability to export your patients demographics into some type of standard format such as ASCII text, Excel spreadsheet, Dbase, etc. If you can get us the data in a standard format we will be glad to import it into Rx Easy for you. Then you can start from day 1 with all your patients and their demographic data preloaded. There is a minimal charge for this service, but it is very cost effective. Please contact us if you are interested in this.

Can my office staff refill prescriptions using Rx Easy?
Of course. The office staff can enter prescription refills and put them on hold for the doctor, who then reviews them and prescribes them simply by pressing a button. Prescriptions for up to 10 patients can be put on hold at any time. The office staff can only put prescriptions on hold. For obvious reasons only a physician (or PA or NP) can actually prescribe a medication.

How do I know if I will like Rx Easy?
Feel free to try it for 30 days and see for yourself. There is no cost or obligation to try out our software.
